Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to be featured in Srijit Mukherji's next film "Oti Uttam"

Almost after four decades of his death, Mahanayak Uttam Kumar is going to make a comeback on big screen in Srijit Mukherji's upcoming film titled as Oti Uttam. This is going to happen because of an extra ordinary innovative story idea of Srijit Mukherji and a hardworking VFX team.

Oti Uttam will be a romantic comedy where Uttam Kumar will play an important character in the story. This is the story of a guy played by Anindya Sengupta who is a die hard fan of Uttam Kumar and also doing a research on him. When he faces rejection from his lady love, he decides to connect with the spirit of his idol as he is so popular as a romantic hero on screen. With the help of the late actor's grandson Gourab Chatterjee he succeeds to connect with Mahanayak who helps him to succeed in his love life. Popular TV actress Roshni Bhattacharya will make her big screen debut as the on screen girlfriend of Anindya Sengupta.

Srijit Mukherji had made his directorial debut with Autograph which was his tribute to the legendary actor and now with Oti Uttam he is moving one step ahead as a fanboy of the great actor. According to Srijit Mukherji he was toying with this idea for a long time but to make  a film on this idea was a huge challenge as they can use only existing footages of the late actor. For that he has to write the screenplay and dialogues in sync with existing footages. Another challenge was to get the copyrights of those existing film footages. Finally Srijit and his team has overcame all these challenges and they have wrapped up shooting for the film recently.

For the first time Srijit has made a romantic comedy that too with such an unique concept, hopefully it will be a special experience for the audience. We are eagerly waiting for this experience.
