"Jawl Phoring 2.0" song from the movie "Prem Tame"

Image
Much loved song Jawl Phoring from Hemlock Society has made a comeback with renewed energy as Jawl Phoring 2.0 in the movie Prem Tame. Reusing the remix version of popular old songs is a very popular trend now in Bollywood but Jawl Phoring 2.0 is very different from that trend. U nlike those remix songs this is not a forceful addition to the movie just to add a hit song in the music album, rather the song has been included in the film very organically as part of a college fest. Anupam Roy singing his own popular tracks in a college fest is a realistic scenario that many of us have witnessed in real life. The makers deserve credit for including  the song in the film in such a organic way. Also Watch : Trailer of the movie "Prem Tame" Anupam Roy who had also written and composed the original song has not changed much in this song except for some additional lyrics and some musical arrangement changes considering this is a college fest performance. Even after long eight years we s...

"Hok Na Magic" song from the movie "Magic"

Image
Hok Na Magic from the movie Magic is a soothing melodious track written by Raja Chanda, composed by Dabbu and sung by Anupam Roy. Also Watch : Trailer of the movie "Magic" This is a romantic melody that features the magical chemistry between the lead pair Ankush and Oindrila. But despite that magical chemistry the main highlight of the song is the lyrics written by director Raja Chanda. Earlier also we have seen him writing songs but those were mostly a rephrased versions of similar lines every time that we used to hear regularly in mainstream Bengali movies. But this time he has written very refreshing lines that sounds good. Dabbu's composition is just okay for most of the part but the signature line is very catchy and that works quite well for the song. It remains in mind for sometime even after the song is over. When Anupam Roy sings for other composers it sounds refreshing and breaks the monotony of him singing to his own tunes. He should try this quite often.

Recently the trailer of the film has been released and one must say this looks very promising. It will be too early to predict about the film by just watching the trailer but it seems story writer Arnab Bhaumik has tried some new concept for this film. It is very encouraging to see film makers are trying to experiment with new concepts in mainstream Bengali cinema coming out of the closets of remakes. The trailer is smartly edited that generates curiosity without divulging much details about the plot and characters. One can get a rough idea that the story is about a magician with a tragic backstory and now he is planning for some revenge.  The fresh p...
